4 Step Admission Process in Brief
1. Apply online.
2. Pay the application fee.
3. Obtain qualification: write our Competency Test or present your score from BMAT/MCAT/GAMSAT/UKCAT/DAT/HPAT.
If you hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Master of Science (MSc) degree, use a university GPA.
4. Pay the confirmation fee and complete your admission file.
The Online Recruitment System (ORS) is the only way to register and apply to the Medical University of Warsaw 5-year Dental Medicine Program in English. We do not accept any other form of application. You will need to fill in your ORS application with information and documents throughout the application process. So, don’t miss a step and register before the deadline!
The last day to register online is June 16, 2024.
The Online Recruitment System is the University’s means of communication with the Candidate. All the information that appears on the Candidate’s online account or in emails sent to the Candidate’s address shall be deemed given and binding. Therefore, the Candidate is responsible for checking their online application and emails. Admission results will appear on the Candidate’s online account only.
Note: The University is committed to personal data protection and will not disclose any information by phone or third parties. The University is not responsible for the incorrectly completed application.
Online Registration: Step by Step
1. Select the correct type of application.
Register online and remember your password.
2. Complete the application steps in ORS: fill in the required fields.
The application is divided into several steps. Completed steps are marked in GREEN. Incomplete fields are marked in RED.
a. Each candidate is required to add a recent photo. Please check the photo requirements in the ORS carefully.
b. Remember to register for the Competency Test in the ORS and fill in correctly the country of residence (if you have selected application with the MUW Competency Test).
3. Enclose the required documents.
The list of documents is in the step “Attach Documents". We only require a few at the beginning. Upload them as soon as possible.
Sets of documents required in the ORS at the initial stage of recruitment:
– if you choose to write the Medical University of Warsaw (MUW) competency test, you have to upload the scan of the secondary school-leaving certificate and scan of the passport. Please also complete the “Grades and Results" step in the ORS.
Individuals who finish high school in 2024 – please upload your predicted grades and the passport scan. Please leave the “Grades and results" step blank. You will complete it with your final grades.
– if you want to apply with your BMAT, MCAT, UKCAT, GAMSAT, DAT, HPAT score, please upload the certificate’s scan. If you do not enclose this document, your application will not be considered. Please also provide the scan of the passport.
– if you hold a BSc or MSc degree, you will be assessed based on your university GPA (the competency test is not required). Please upload scan of the diploma, transcript, as well as scan of the passport.
You will have to complete other required documents if you are qualified (status: Qualified, place is confirmed).
You will be given a deadline for this by the Admission Board – usually 30 days.
The language certificate or documents confirming the fluency in English should be attached to the documents when you get the status: Qualified, place is confirmed.
Remember, however, that if you do not have the correct documents confirming English fluency, you will not be able to be admitted to the university.
4. Check your application. Make sure to fill in each field correctly.
Completed steps are marked in GREEN. Incomplete fields are marked in RED.
5. Pay the application fee.
The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid by bank transfer only.
Please, use only the personal account number generated by the ORS.
6. Check your online account and emails regularly for information and updates.
What are the statuses in the ORS?
Initially, each candidate has a “no decision" status.
Based on the competency test results OR the BMAT/UCAT/GAMSAT/MCAT/DAT/HPAT score OR university GPA, the Admission Board will qualify each candidate. Status in ORS may change as follows:
“Qualified, Place confirmation" – The Admission Board is waiting for you to confirm your place at the university and pay the confirmation fee. You have seven days to do this. You will receive instructions on how to confirm your place. Place confirmation (400 EUR) is part of tuition fee and is non-refundable.
“Qualified, Place is confirmed" – You have confirmed your place. You will be given templates of the documents to be completed and guidelines on preparing the admission file. The Admission Board will also give you a deadline by which you must submit your documents. Please note – each qualified candidate must send original documents to Warsaw by the deadline to keep the place.
“Waiting list" – Candidates who earned more points than you were qualified. You may still be qualified if they choose not to enroll. You have to wait for further instructions.
“Not accepted" – Your application was rejected. You can only apply again in the next academic year’s recruitment.
Application Fee
The application fee depends on the way you plan to complete the admission process:
23 EUR – if you want to write the Medical University of Warsaw (MUW) competency test.
20 EUR – if you want to submit your BMAT, MCAT, UKCAT, DAT, HPAT or GAMSAT score. Please send your certificate to the Admissions Office at recruitment.dentistry@wum.edu.pl before applying online.
20 EUR – if you hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Master of Science (MSc) degree. Upload a copy of your transcript in the Online Registration System (ORS). You will be assessed based on your GPA.
Payment procedure
The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid by bank transfer.
The Online Recruitment System will generate an account number dedicated to your application. Please, use only the personal account number generated by the ORS when making your payment by bank transfer.
Please note:
The Medical University of Warsaw accepts only bank transfer payments in EUR. Therefore, please ensure that the amount being transferred from a foreign currency will meet the required amount in EUR.
All and any handling charges related to the transfer, refunds, currency conversion fee are candidates' responsibility.
Please be aware that it can take up to 5 days for the Online Registration System (ORS) to confirm receipt of your payment.

Admission file
Preparation of the school-leaving certificate (high-school diploma) depends on the country where you graduated or the education system.
We strongly request that each candidate upload scans of their documents into the IRK/ORS system before sending them by registered post or courier service to the University.
Documents that should be submitted after qualification:

4. Statement of the date of obtaining the secondary school-leaving certificate. (Only candidates who have not yet received the original certificate from their school when mailing by post the documents to the University).
5. Secondary School-Leaving Certificate (High School Diploma)
Secondary School-Leaving Certificate (High School Diploma) that qualifies to undertake higher education studies in the country of issue (entitles its holder to be admitted to medical education programmes).
a. The certificate must be original, or the copy certified by a Notary Public
b. The certificate must be certified with an affixed apostille or legalized
– Candidates holding IB/EB Diploma do not need to have an apostille on the official high school-leaving examination certificate.
6. Transcripts of all attended education programs with an affixed apostille or legalized (a transcript is only needed if the grades are not written on the certificate).
7. Certification of the candidate’s right to apply for admission to higher education (only selected candidates – we will provide you with detailed information)
8. Document confirming the fluency in English.
– citizenship of a country in which English is the official language
– IB Diploma (International Baccalaureate)
– EB Diploma (Issued in Brussels)
– completion of secondary or post-secondary education with English as language of instruction
– Language certificates recognized by the Medical University of Warsaw:
IELTS Academic – Overall Band Score at least 6 points
TOEFL iBT – at least 80 points
TOEFL PBT – at least 510 points

– Polish baccalaureate examination (egzamin maturalny) with the result of the written examination in English (advanced level) of at least 80%
– Candidates who completed their secondary education in Scandinavian countries:
Norway: grade in English in secondary school at least: 4
Sweden: grade in English in secondary school at least: VG or C
Denmark: grade in English in secondary school at least: 7
9. Health certificate form completed by a physician stating that the candidate can commence medical studies.
It requires several tests and preparation of information.
10. Vaccination Certificate (Immunisation proof)
11. One (1) recent passport photo (picture was taken with the photographer on photographic paper)
Documents that should be submitted upon the start of studies:
12. Proof of health insurance valid in Poland (EHIC for EU citizens)
13. Copy of a student visa or other document confirming that the stay in Poland is legal
14. Confirmation of education issued by the Masovian Education Superintendent in Poland – to be submitted by the end of the first year of studies (unless recognition is automatic, based on international agreements)
All the submitted documents must be certify translated to English also should be originals or copies certified by a notary.
Please be aware that applicants who submitted incomplete and/or incorrect documents will not be admitted to University by the Admission Board.

Qualification score
I. Qualification for studies will be based on the sum of qualifying points with the participation
of two criteria
1. the results of the matriculation or secondary school-leaving examination or foreign exams confirmed by a secondary school-leaving certificate or a certificate of the results of the secondary school-leaving examination or an IB diploma or an EB diploma or a certificate/diploma/other document issued outside the Republic of Poland – entitling to apply for admission to higher education in the Republic of Poland – recalculated for qualification points on the terms set out in part II below.
2. the results of the competency exam conducted by the Medical University of Warsaw, which will be converted into qualification points on the terms set out in Part III below, or the results of the standardized written DAT (Dental Admission Test) or UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) or BMAT (Biomedical Admissions Test) or MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) or GAMSAT (Graduate Australian Medical School Admissions Test) or HPAT (Health Professions Admission Test) - confirmed by an appropriate certificate
Candidates with a BSc (Bachelor of Science) or MSc (Master of Science) diploma in natural sciences or equivalent, receive qualification points in this criterion after converting grades in natural science subjects, based on the presented list of grades (transcript).
Certificate of DAT, UCAT, BMAT, MCAT, GAMSAT, HPAT and diploma in natural sciences BSc and MSc - are recognized within 5 years from the date of issue.
Qualification result = 30% of the sum of qualifying points for criterion 1) + 70% of triple the number of qualifying points for criterion 2)
II. Qualificationbased on the results specified in part I, section 1:
1. Candidates who have obtained a secondary school-leaving certificate after taking the matriculation examination/certificate of the results of the matura examination will be qualified based on the results of the matriculation examination in the following subjects, converted into qualifying points:
- biology- written examination (advanced level),
- chemistry- written examination (advanced level),
- physics and astronomy (or physics) or mathematics- written examination (basic or advanced level).
For the subjects Physics and Astronomy (or Physics) and Mathematics, the following applies:
a) the result of the examination in Physics and Astronomy or Physics (basic level) will be converted into qualification points using a multiplier of 0.6, and the result of this examination taken at the advanced level - using a multiplier of 1.0,
b) the result of the Mathematics examination (basic level) will be converted into qualifying points using a multiplier of 0.5, and the result of this examination taken at the advanced level - using a multiplier of 1.0.
2. Candidates who have obtained an IB diploma or an EB diploma or a certificate or other documents issued in the following Member States: European Union (EU), Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) or European Free Trade Association (EFTA) will be qualified on the basis of converted for qualifying points, results from the matura examination in the following subjects:
1) biology- written examination at an advanced level (e.g. Higher Level, Advanced Level),
2) chemistry- written examination at an advanced level (e.g. Higher Level, Advanced Level),
3) physics or mathematics- written examination at the basic level (e.g. Standard Level, Advanced Subsidiary Level) or advanced (e.g. Higher Level, Advanced Level).
The rules for converting grades from the IB diploma and certificates or other documents issued in the countries listed above into qualification points are set out in Annex 20.
In the case of Mathematics taken in the IB programme, the following subjects are accepted: Mathematical Studies Standard Level or Mathematics (Standard or Higher Level) or Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (Standard or Higher Level) or Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (Standard or Higher Level).
In the case of the IB diploma, the following rules apply to the results in Physics and Mathematics:
a) the result of the Physics examination passed at the Standard Level will be converted into qualifying points using a multiplier of 0.6, and the result of this examination passed at the Higher Level using a multiplier of 1.0.
b) the result of the examination in Mathematics will be converted into qualifying points:
- Mathematical Studies Standard Level or Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation Standard Level with a multiplier of 0.5,
- Mathematics Standard Level or Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches Standard Level with a multiplier of 0.6,
- Mathematics Higher Level or Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches Higher Level or Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation Higher Level with a multiplier of 1.0.
Grades from EB diplomas, in the case of examinations passed at the advanced level, will be converted into qualifying points using a multiplier of 10, and for results in Physics and Mathematics, in the case of examinations taken at the basic level, using a multiplier of 6 for Physics and a multiplier of 5 for Mathematics.
In the case of other certificates, the following rule applies to the results in Physics and Mathematics:
a) the result of the examination in Physics (basic level, e.g. Standard Level, Advanced Subsidiary Level) will be converted into qualification points using a multiplier of 0.6, and the result of this exam taken at the advanced level (e.g. Higher Level, Advanced Level) - from using a multiplier of 1.0,
b) the result of the Mathematics examination (basic level, e.g. Standard Level, Advanced Subsidiary Level) will be converted into qualification points using a multiplier of 0.5, and the result of this examination taken at the advanced level (e.g. Higher Level, Advanced Level) - from using a multiplier of 1.0.
3. Candidates who have received a secondary school-leaving certificate obtained after passing the secondary school-leaving examination or a certificate/diploma/other document entitling them to apply for admission to higher education in the Republic of Poland, issued outside Poland in countries other than EU, OECD or EFTA member states, will be qualified on the basis of the results in the subjects converted into qualification points (for converters, see Appendix No. 20):
1) biology- grade equivalent to the advanced level of the written matura exam
2) chemistry- grade equivalent to the advanced level of the written matura exam
3) physics and astronomy or physics or mathematics- grade equivalent to the basic or advanced level of the written matura exam.
For the subjects Physics and Astronomy (or Physics) and Mathematics, the following applies:
a) the result of the examination in Physics and Astronomy or Physics (basic level) will be converted into qualification points using a multiplier of 0.6, and the result of this exam taken at the advanced level - using a multiplier of 1.0,
b) the result of the Mathematics examination (basic level) will be converted into qualifying points using a multiplier of 0.5, and the result of this exam taken at the advanced level - using a multiplier of 1.0.
4. Where the document referred to in Part II(2) and (3) does not specify the pass level or provide documentary evidence of the equivalence of the result obtained to a given level, this result may be recognised:
- from the examination in Biology and Chemistry as equivalent to the advanced level of the matura examination. Then this result will be converted into qualifying points (see Appendix No. 20) according to the grading scale used in a given education system, converted into a 100-point scale. A multiplier of 1.0 will be applied to the converted result;
- from the examination in Physics (or Physics and Astronomy) and Mathematics as equivalent to the basic level of the matura exam. Then, this result will be converted into qualification points (see Appendix No. 20) according to the grading scale used in a given education system, converted into a 100-point scale. A multiplier of 0.6 will be applied to the converted result for the Physics and a multiplier of 0.5 for the Mathematics.
In the absence of the required subject on the certificate, the candidate may take the examination in this subject organized by the Medical University of Warsaw (Biology, Chemistry, Physics). A candidate can receive a maximum of 100 points in a given subject. The scope of the examination requirements is determined and announced by the Chairperson of the Faculty Recruitment Committee in consultation with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine by February 15, 2024.
5. In the case of candidates who are in the last year of secondary school and will take the matura exam, IB or EB exams or receive a certificate/diploma/other document issued outside the Republic of Poland - entitling them to apply for admission to higher education in the Republic of Poland in the year of recruitment , persons who have a certificate of expected results of the matura exam or grades predicted on a certificate/diploma/other document issued outside the Republic of Poland - entitling to apply for admission to higher education in the Republic of Poland, issued by authorized bodies (the so-called predicted grades). The qualification of these candidates will be conditional until the presentation of the original secondary school-leaving certificate, IB or EB diploma, or certificate/diploma/other document issued outside the Republic of Poland - entitling them to apply for admission to higher education in the Republic of Poland within the deadline set by the Recruitment Committee for submitting documents in the case of recruitment for a field of study taught in English.
III. Qualification based to the results specified in part I section 2:
- The competency examination will be conducted in English, including checking the understanding of the principles of Biology, Chemistry, decision making and logical thinking.
- The scope of the examination requirements is determined and announced by the Chairperson of the Faculty Recruitment Commission in consultation with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine by February 15, 2024. The examination takes place in electronic form; the examination may also be conducted in a stationary form. The examination is conducted for candidates grouped according to the country of residence, in locations and on dates determined by the Chairman of the Faculty Recruitment Committee.
Admission to the examination takes place on the basis of an application completed by the candidate in the Online Recruitment System (ORS). Examination results are given in points. The candidate can obtain a maximum of 100 points. The examination will be conducted on the dates announced in accordance with the rules set out in Appendix No. 23.
The University reserves the right to conduct interviews with the indicated candidates.
IV. Required documents in terms of knowledge of the English language
Candidates qualified for admission to studies (does not apply to candidates whose mother tongue is English and candidates who took the matura examination in English) must submit a certificate from the examination verifying the knowledge of English at a level enabling them to pursue studies. The CEFR B2 level must be confirmed by the following certificates: IELTS with a score of at least 6 points; CAE; CPE; TOEFL iBT - at least 80 points, TOEFL PBT - at least 510 points from the test (at least 180 points in the computer system), TOEIC at least 700 or an equivalent certificate verified by the Recruitment Committee. A document confirming the knowledge of the English language may also be a diploma of completion of first- or second-cycle studies outside the Republic of Poland, or long-cycle master's studies with English as the language of instruction.
For candidates with a secondary school-leaving certificate obtained after taking the matriculation examination in the Republic of Poland, the result of the written exam in English at the advanced level is taken into account, the grade of which is at least 80%. If the candidate presenting the secondary school-leaving certificate obtained after taking the matriculation examination does not have the indicated grade in English, he/she is obliged to present a language certificate at the CEFR B2 level confirming knowledge of English in accordance with the above-mentioned requirements.
For candidates from Scandinavian countries, the grades in English obtained on the secondary school leaving certificate are taken into account. Minimum grades for applicants from the Scandinavian countries:
1) for candidates from Norway - at least 4;
2) for candidates from Sweden - at least C (VG);
3) for candidates from Denmark - at least 7.
If a candidate from a Scandinavian country does not have the indicated grade in English, he/she is required to present a language certificate at the CEFR B2 level confirming knowledge of English in accordance with the above-mentioned requirements.
