Summer Student Placement

The internship programme for the first year will be updated soon.

Process step by step:

First, the student must find a place where they would like to complete their summer student placement. The requirements for a facility in a given year of study are described in the section “Framework Programs of Summer Student Placement” below. Please note that students may also do their summer placement outside of Poland, provided that the institution meets the established requirements.
Agree on the dates of the summer student placement and make any other necessary arrangements with the chosen institution. Remember that the internship cannot begin earlier than July 13 (i.e., after the official end of the exam session) and must be completed by the end of September.
Fill out the Application Form. Please note that part of the application must be completed by the person in charge of student internships at the chosen institution. The final part of the form must be completed by the Dean, who grants (or denies) permission for the internship to take place at the proposed institution on the specified dates.

IMPORTANT: If the student has chosen an institution that does not operate within the framework of the Medical University of Warsaw (e.g., the Department of Orthodontics), then Appendix No. 1 must also be submitted along with the application. This appendix outlines the requirements for facilities allowed to conduct student internships at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of MUW.

Bring the completed documents to the Dean's Office for approval of the summer student placement.
If the chosen institution requires a referral for internships, please inform the Dean’s Office when submitting your application. Such a referral can be issued only after obtaining the Dean’s approval.
During the internship, the placement supervisor (appointed by the head of the unit) must fill out the internship log to confirm that the student has completed the required activities. Details about who can be a placement supervisor are included in the “Framework Programs of Summer Student Placement”.
Immediately after completing the summer student placement, the student should deliver the internship log to the Dean’s Office. If the student is outside Poland, they should contact the Dean’s Office.

Please note: The summer student placement is compulsory and required in order to receive credit and promotion to the next academic year.
